Chocolate Hummus

  • 1 can garbanzo beans , 15 ounces
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 3 Tablespoons nut butter or not-nut butter of your choice
  • 2 Tablespoons grapeseed oil or other healthy oil of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules (optional)
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons water


  1. In bowl of food processor fitted with "S" blade, add all ingredients except water.
  2. Process until smooth. A couple teaspoons at a time, add water in while processor is running. Stop when the thickness and consistency you like is achieved.
  3. Serve with strawberries, apples, bananas, fruit of your choice. Refrigerate any leftovers.
