Mocha gelato, espresso, chopped hazelnuts and chocolate shavings

For those of you who are dairy free, the cashew milk-based ice creams from So Delicious make an incredible Affogato. They are already incredibly creamy, making them perfect for this dessert. I like the Cappuccino one used in place of the mocha gelato above.
Place 3 small scoops of gelato or ice cream in a glass mug or small bowl.
Top with hot espresso.
Immediately garnish with chopped hazelnuts and chocolate shavings.
If using one of the flavor combinations that calls for bourbon, rum, amaretto, etc...simply replace a bit of the espresso with the liquor. For bourbon and rum, I replace an entire tablespoon of the espresso. I go a bit lighter with amaretto.
