I was going to wait until the first of the year to tell you about what I did the month of December…but here it is the 5th of December and I’m having so much fun with this project that I wanted to tell you about it. I’m kinda hoping you’ll read this and join me for the rest of the month!
Last week I saw this on Pinterest. (Again, I have to say how much I love Pinterest. Seriously, I might have a Pinning Problem.) The idea shared by Courtney at Lil Light O’ Mine is to perform a random act of kindness each day, to put the focus on others during the holidays. I decided to do it for the entire month.
I’ve done 4 fun things so far. I’m not going to tell you about each of them. At the end of the month I’m going to share some of the ones that were really fun. Four days in and I can already say that I’m getting more from this than the folks who are the recipients of my random acts. I’m having a blast and have had oodles of warm fuzzies thinking about the acts of kindness I have planned for the rest of the month!
I printed out these tags and have a ziploc bag full of them in my purse. The barista at my local coffee shop was happy to stick one of them on a drink I bought for the person behind me in line. I also plan to use them for a fun idea I have for the toy aisle at Target. Sometimes I haven’t needed one of the tags, but I think they are super cute. I have a blue jar in the kitchen near the tree. Each day I’m writing down what I did that day on a slip of paper and putting it in the jar. These are presents to me, waiting under the tree.
So will you join me? Will you buy a coffee for a stranger? Pay someone’s turnpike toll? Leave an anonymous note of kindness on your co-worker’s desk? I’d love to hear about it!
The ornaments on my tree were created following these instructions from Bake It Pretty. The framed Christmas subway art is a free printable from Today’s Creative Blog.

Hello 🙂 I just found your blog searching for Light em Up ideas and I would love to see what the tags look like that you put onto the coffees you paid for for others but the link in you post doesn’t seem to be working. Could you let me know if there is somewhere else that I can see it? Thanks and I love this idea!
