These trips to the Dog Bakery are such a guilty pleasure. I actually enjoy them more than the dogs! I like spoiling them with treats that are so pretty I’d like to eat them.
Our recent addition, Dolce, has been with us for seven months now and had never been to the dog bakery. I will admit that it is a little harder to go places with three dogs than it was with two. We have to do some re-arranging of automobiles to safely transport all three pups. Plus Dolce is still new to all of this car-riding, being well-behaved in public thing. I thought it was time for us to give the dog bakery a try.
Everyone did great. Dolce was a little overwhelmed, Marley was his typical underwhelmed self and Izzy panted the whole time. Dolce may have licked every rawhide bone on display and Izzy growled at the rug delivery guy. Everyone was offered treat samples and politely refused, perhaps waiting for the good stuff in one of the bakery cases.
I asked John on the way home to remind me how great the dogs behaved on this trip the next time I am frustrated with Dolce’s behavior. She is trying hard to learn good dog manners, but we have had some rough days lately. She slept quietly in her dog car seat the whole way home, I could have forgotten she was even in the car, which is reason #476 we have furkids and not human ones. It was a super fun trip, definitely one of my 40 Favorite Things!
Here’s what our pooches got at the bakery. It’s hard to believe these are dog treats!
