Happy National Donut Day!
Here are a few donut specials for those of you who want to join me in celebrating the donut aficionado’s high holy day of donut-ness. June 1st marks the 75th anniversary of National Donut Day, a holiday created by the Salvation Army to support the men and women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.
Krispy Kreme is giving away FREE donuts today, no purchase necessary.
Dunkin Donuts is celebrating by including a free donut with any beverage purchase. In some areas, DD has a .99 iced tea special, so you can get a donut and a tea for a buck.
In the Midwest, Hy-Vee grocery stores are offering 3 donuts for .99.
Lamar’s is giving away one free donut to each guest. Pick from the donuts with a hole, others are excluded from this offer.
Entenmann’s and the Salvation Army have joined together to celebrate National Donut Day with a sweepstakes, giving away lots of prizes including free donuts for a year. Click here for more info.
Shipley’s is offering a free donut at participating locations.
Tim Hortons is offering a free donut with any purchase. “Like” them on Facebook to get your coupon.
Many local donut shops are also offering special today. Don’t forget them, many tasty donuts come from the local mom ‘n pop donut shops.
