I like riding my bicycle. Where I live, it’s not always the safest plan to ride to the grocery store or on other errands. I do it anyway, planning routes on back roads and cautiously pedaling through traffic amongst drivers who would rather not share the road with cyclists.
Every Saturday morning I go to spin class, driving (often carpooling) to class. Class is about 15 miles from home, highway miles. This week I rode my bike instead of driving, zig zagging through a network of streets unfamiliar to me that kept me safely off of the highway. I left as the sun was rising and got to the gym just as my friend Renee pulled into the parking lot. She drove my car to class so I could put my bike on my car’s bike rack and go to class. Perfect!
Yes, I caught a ride home. I didn’t have quite enough time to ride home but will one Saturday soon when my work schedule allows. I’m looking forward to riding home, because the ride to the gym was uphill the whole way. I think I’ve earned the downhill portion of the ride. 😉
