I ventured out to Dunkin’ Donuts in St. Joseph last week with Em and will write about it soon. Someone will have to tell me all about the new spot, since I don’t want to visit the same chain twice this year.
Personally, I think the presence of this blog is evidence enough that we don't need a big donut franchise in KC. Hopefully these small shops can hang on.

I have thought about DD's arrival in KC a lot today. I had a hard time understanding why I wasn't knocking down their door at 5 a.m. Shouldn't a donut blogger be first in line? Why the lack of excitement? Probably because I've found a plethera of better donuts and a passion for unique donut experiences. And because I'm pissed they plan to open a location within spitting distance of what I believe to be the KC area's best independent donut shop.
